Mark Posten & Christine Rush
In 1958, Charles R. “Charlie” Posten established CR Posten Excavating, a company that would support his family and community for over 47 years. He later expanded the business to include his two sons and renamed it CR Posten & Sons Excavating. His sons used the skills they developed to begin their own businesses and careers.
A skilled builder, Charlie built the family’s home in Upper Marlboro, MD in 1959. He was also an excellent mechanic and had a passion for repairing and restoring tractors, machinery and classic cars, including a 1967 Ford Mustang, a huckster Model T and a 1967 Belair. Charlie believed that hard work, honesty, integrity to family and community were the greatest rewards in life.
Impact
In his memory, Mark Posten and Christine Rush established the Charles Robert Posten Memorial Fund in 2012 with the hope that another individual may learn the skills that will provide the rewards that Charlie valued most. This scholarship provides financial assistance for tuition, books and fees for students enrolled in CSM Workforce Development Continuing Education courses.
