The Family of Connie Kite
The Connie Kite Memorial Nursing Scholarship is given to a deserving student in memory of a very special person. It is the goal of the Kite Family to identify a person for the scholarship who is tender hearted, has a genuine desire for helping others and will provide not only professional care, but compassionate and considerate care to his or her patient.
Connie Margaret Kite was raised in Charles County where she attended elementary through high school. After graduating from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, she worked for Kaiser Permanente where she held several positions and was adored by her supervisors and co-workers. She was a treasured member of a large family that has lived in Southern Maryland for more than 50 years.
Connie’s joy in life came from doing good deeds for others that made a difference in their lives. Unfortunately, she had health difficulties that many of us would consider unbearable. She was a three year patient of dialysis, had several toes amputated, and had trouble walking short distances. Despite her hardships, she never complained.
Impact
Established in 2011 by Vickie Kite Milburn in memory of her sister, Connie Kite. This award supports second-year nursing students.
