Desiree Angel Osvatics was a 2008 graduate of Leonardtown High School where she obtained a Certificate of Achievement in Television and Video Production from the Forrest Career & Technical Center. In May of 2013, the College of Southern Maryland honored her memory by awarding her Associates of Arts Degree in Digital Media Production to her family.

A gifted artist and musician, Desiree played the saxophone, flute, guitar, piano and drums. She also had a passion for the water, having been a member of the USA Swim Team for two years and the Breton Bay Swim Team for six years. She enjoyed wakeboarding, jet skiing and in 2012 she became a certified diver. With a love of adventure, she enjoyed many hours in flight with the Civil Air Patrol as a member of the St. Mary’s Composite Squadron.

Impact

In honor of her determination the Desiree Angel Osvatics Memorial scholarship fund was established to help CSM Communication and Arts students realize their passion, potential and future with financial assistance for tuition, fees, and books.
