Verna M. Posey

The Verna M. Posey Scholarship was established in 2024 by the Posey family in memory of their beloved mother, Verna McAllister Posey. A true champion of CSM, Verna served on the board of trustees at the College of Southern Maryland from 1992 to 2000 and the college’s foundation board from 2003 to 2008. She was deeply committed to CSM, which was most notably felt through her endeavors to establish the former St. Charles Children’s Learning Center on the La Plata Campus, which assisted parents with reaching their educational goals.
